Advocating for Improved Travel Funding for Families of Children with Cancer

I have called for urgent reforms to travel funding for families of children undergoing cancer treatment. Speaking in Parliament, I highlighted that as treatments become more specialised, families face significant financial strain from long-distance travel, with only 12% receiving full cost coverage under current schemes.

I warned that financial pressures lead to missed or delayed appointments, harming patients and increasing NHS costs. I urged reforms to alleviate the burden on families and optimise healthcare resources.

No family should face impossible choices over their child’s health.
