I called for urgent action to improve access to sport and PE in schools, highlighting its vital role in supporting young people’s mental health. Speaking in a Commons debate, I noted that one in five children are experiencing a mental health crisis and stressed that physical activity can help manage stress, anxiety and depression.
A strong PE curriculum and access to outdoor sport are more important than ever. I pledged to keep campaigning for inclusive, well-funded sports provision in schools across Redditch and the Villages.
