Calling for Urgent Reform to Support Adoptive Families

I raised the alarm in Parliament over serious failings in the support system for adoptive families. Speaking in a Commons debate on adoption breakdown, I cited the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman’s report, which uncovered widespread delays and bureaucratic barriers pushing families to crisis point.

The most heartbreaking part was how many families were deterred or forced out of the process due to lack of support. I called for urgent reforms to ensure timely, accessible help so that no adoptive family is left to struggle alone.
