I recently visited High House Farm in Abbots Morton and Walmer Farm in Hanbury to discuss concerns over proposed changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR). These family farms are cornerstones of the local community, contributing to food security and preserving the rural heritage of Redditch and the Villages.
During my visits, I engaged with farmers to hear firsthand how these proposed changes could impact their livelihoods and the broader agricultural sector. Protecting our farmers is crucial for safeguarding food security and preserving our rural way of life.
I reaffirmed my commitment to championing farmers’ interests in Parliament. I pledged to advocate for policies that support local agriculture, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the farming community. These discussions underline the importance of listening to those directly affected and working towards solutions that benefit both farmers and the wider community.
